Never will, never would
Shock & Awe
WARNING : INBOUND WALL OF TEXT
(this is a long, windy rambling post. I’m practically offloading everything that has happened for like the last week)
I guess I do miss the feeling of having Catsoc around in school, after 10 years, it kinda automatically plugs a hole in you life which is gaping right now. Being back at Cat High was a refreshing change to JC life. The juniors were as crappy as usual, the teachers got crazier(including a WTF?!?!?! marriage) , and the entire Catholic Camp just…become a lot weirder.
Being the old boy there, I guess it was ridiculously awkward at first when I realised it was an external group running the shop down there. The entire atmopshere was noticably different for the first like two thirds of the entire camp going on, but I guess it warmed up towards the end. It was short, but fun getting back together to meet old faces. Usman, J.ling, Jason, Yang Qin(even if you like appeared for like 30 seconds and left because of *ahem*). Midnight showers, sleeping on the track/field/student’s lounge/teacher’s lounge/GO/finding out what the nightguard was doing/climbing attempts was reminiscent of what the place was about. Monkeying around
I know, things have changed, from the retarded autolights(I mean, wtf, it just shuts off by itself when you’re in a cubicle) to rusty nails on the wall(no I do not kid) to even the facilitation of the camp. I just guess it’s another lesson in not being too narrow minded.
Now again, I’m thinking too much.
Anyway, the pertinent and more obvious issues. Blimy hell, I’ve been sick for the 8 days or so. Sleeping in an aircon room in camp wasn’t exactly a wise decision with a flu. Now I’m stuck with bronchitis for probably a few more days. Gah, this virus is just refusing to get purged. And I have the frigging Stan Chart marathon tomorrow. I’ll probably drag myself 10k if I have to at the end. Still, this is like my first serious physical activity in almost 3 weeks. Although I’m kinda anxious to really get back into action, just hope I don’t collapse on the way.
In other news, a certain OBS letter just arrived at my doorstep, I’ll probably wait for a better time to open it, seeing that I’m still fully aware of what’s inside. And even getting the SJAB peeps together even more recently was a pretty nice gesture.
This is when the past starts to flood the present. Probably gonna be my most fun set of holidays yet. (minus this bloody virus)
Sometimes, all you need to handle freshness is a little flexibility
Crush
Get away from me
Tattered
Back from India, shot straight back into the school of yesteryear. No wonder I’m frigging suffering with a fever now. I’m a bloody genius.
Anyway, India, as expected, was fun in the end. Minus the craziness at the end where they just plonked us right in the middle of a bazaar. When in India, do as Indians do, bargain until you argue. Still, that probably was not the highlight of the 10 days. The mood going in was dreary, but I guess as usual it just took time for us to click(and surprisingly well, I might add), and it was pretty darn fun in the end.
Between bathing in cold water at the frigging night in probably single degree temperature, because SOME PEOPLE took all the hot water, to freezing in a wooden room when dressed in 5 layers while people were sleep in shorts in another room, to the bunch of random dogs that would hop in everyday. Even the final day party, even though like more than half the team ended up tipsy and near drunk and knocked themselves out.
It even marked a personal moment, I actually -brought- a camera to something for the first time in like ages, diao. Still, I’m too lazy to upload anything right now, and from some exemplars, it’s obvious that I’m not a very photogenic face. :/
Homestays, waterfalls, climbing, ghee, chiang, monasteries, dogs!, kids, school, walls, painting, and a bunch load of other stuff. I’m still trying to get back into life here(probably why I got sick now), but for now, I’m missing the place badly. Just kinda wanna just live together as that group of 23+2 again. Still, that’s not the end of the trip. I’ll probably and hopefully be seeing this fun bunch moreso in the future.
I’ll probably talk more about Cat High Cat camp 08 when I have the time. It was bleeding eventful for the wrong reasons. Hell, I even got the shock of my life there.
Every journey starts with an eh and ends with an ehhhh-ba.
